Out and About with the Kids

  • Harlequinns Leisure, Bude - multi-level play area 10 pin bowling.
  • Splash Leisure Pool, Bude - swimming pool with waves and flume.
  • Trethorne Leisure Farm, Launceston - Indoor and outdoor play area, farm animals, 10 pin bowling and dodgems all make for a great day out.
  • Hidden Valley Discovery Park, off the A395 - Follow the clues along the trail, get to the mansion, beat the clock and win those crystals. It's a great day out for young and old.
  • Launceston Steam Railway - Take the Victorian tank engine along the Kensey Valley to Newmills and the farm park.
  • Tamar Otter and Wildlife Centre, North Petherwin - Be there at 12 noon and 3pm to see the otters being fed. Walk around the grounds and see the muntjac deer and wallabies. Children love seeing the animal so close up.
  • Cornwall Crealy Adventure Theme Park, Tredinnick - Indoor and outdoor play areas, animals and park rides, where you can easily spend the whole day.
  • The Milky Way, Clovelly - Cross the border into Devon and take on The Cosmic Typhoon, the fastest roller coaster in the area. After that sit back and watch the bird of prey shows and the kids taking on the assault courses.
  • The Big Sheep, Bideford - Drive a little further along the A39 and get the full sheep experience, with live shows, indoor arenas and rides.
  • Tamar Lakes, Kilkhampton - For the water sport enthusiasts you can hire sailing equipment, kayaks, windsurfers and padaloes. Book in advance and get yourself on a course.
  • Roadford Lakes, Lifton - More water sports, hire equipment by the hour or join a two hour taster course, not only in water sports but raft building, archery, high ropes and indoor climbing.
  • Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, Lifton - Step back in time to the heyday of fairground attractions, the dodgems are our personal favourites.
  • Museum of Witchcraft, Boscastle - For those of you who love Harry Potter, take a trip to see the worlds largest collection of witchcraft artefacts, but be careful it may be scary for little ones.
  • Bodmin Jail, Bodmin - See how the prisoners used to live, read the old court judgements and let your imagination run wild.
  • The Rebel Cinema, Treskinnick Cross - Finish off the day or spend a wet afternoon at our local cinema, 10 minutes away by car. Great seats, lots of leg room and great value for money.
